We're looking for a Payroll Assistant to join our finance team in Appleton. 

Job Purpose: To assist the transactional department of the business, AP, Banking & Payroll, specialising in Payroll. The candidate will be running end-to-end payroll and helping to ensure the team is compliant and meets legislation. The ideal candidate will be someone with experience in payroll, high attention to detail and organised. The candidate will also have opportunities to work within Accounts Payable as Payroll/AP are one team.

Key Accountabilities

  • Processing weekly, fortnightly, four weekly and monthly payrolls on Sage 50 payroll (end-to-end)
  • Working towards strict payroll deadlines.
  • Using excel to collate, manipulate, and record timesheet data.
  • Working closely with HR. Actioning starters, leavers and T&C changes.
  • Carry out pension enrolment.
  • Processing bank payments.
  • Assist with onboarding acquisitions.
  • Payroll Year End.
  • Continuous improvement with potential to assist onboarding new systems.
  • Answering telephone and email enquiries.
  • Ad-hoc duties such as reporting.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • 2 years’ experience in payroll.
  • CIPP desirable.
  • Out-going with professional attitude and appearance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially excel.
  • Solid communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Highly Organised.
  • High Attention to detail.
  • Time management skills and ability to use initiative.
  • Passion to learn and develop their skills within Finance.
