We are looking for a Mobile HGV/Trailer Technician to be based out of Wisbech. The successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the onsite and roadside mechanical and electrical repair, preventative maintenance and modification of the WS Transportation fleet and customer vehicles.

Duties

  • Carry out preventative vehicle maintenance and servicing, MOT preparation and repairs to a consistently high standard.
  • Fault diagnosis and rectifying faults
  • Carry out all work & repairs in a safe & timely manner exceeding DVSA standards
  • Repair or replace broken or defective parts and resolve defects
  • Road test vehicles & Present for test (licence dependant)
  • Complete administration tasks on time to a consistently high standard.
  • Be able to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Booking out/ Checking parts stock- as per company procedure
  • Attend to Call out, breakdowns and onsite services
  • Work within the Health, Safety and Environment requirements & full compliance to WSFS’s policies To operate ensuring adherence to all Company, Customer and Legal obligations/procedures
  • Follow procedures in handling, paperwork requirements
  • Ensure administrative tasks are completed in timely and correct manner, eg job entry
  • A flexible approach
  • Ensure company vehicle is cleaned, maintained, and safely operated
  • Management of workload to a timely manner
  • Maintain customer relations
  • Adhere to customer site rules and processes
  • Act in a reasonable and polite manner at all times when dealing with the all people
  • Any other reasonable task required by the business

Knowledge

Essential:

  • Have practical understanding of using information technology and systems to deliver objectives
  • Be safety aware and committed to a right first-time ethos
  • Enthusiastic, with the ability to work on your own initiative, remaining focused and consistent and a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Experience of working in a fast paced and demanding business environment, with a flexible approach towards meeting the needs of the business.
  • Desirable:

  • Understanding of stock controls in a workshop environment

Qualifications

  • Suitably qualified and have experience in heavy commercial vehicle maintenance, repair and diagnostic
